Enjoy part sixteen! ^_^ ====================================================================== Disclaimer: I do not own Zoycite or any other character in Sailor Moon. This story is from my own imagination and is my own work. However, I would like to own Malachite...or Prince Diamond...(life's so unfair!^_~) (Actucally, I don't want to own Prince Diamond. I just know someone who does! ^_~ You know who you are ^_~) ====================================================================== Zoycite and Malachite returned home after the latest meeting with Queen Beryl. Actually, they returned to Malachite's castle, but Zoycite was beginning to consider it home. They were engaged after all! Once there, Zoycite immediately removed her jacket and tossed it on a chair. Lately, the thing had seemed much too hot. She had yet to figure out if the Dark Kingdom had seasons like on Earth. The temperature there seemed to change every day. So, she now lounged around in her green shirt, with the uniform pants and boots. Her next order of business, was to remove the engagement from the chain and put it on her finger, where it belonged. "I can't believe Queen Beryl will let me wear this in plain sight!" exclaimed Zoycite as Malachite put the ring on her finger. "Well, Beryl said she was impressed with you, and that's high praise...especially coming from her!" Malachite said proudly, seeings how he had trained Zoycite. "Yes, but I had a wonderful teacher." Zoycite responded quickly. "I don't know what to think about the comment she made." "Which was?" "That someday I may challenge you for the title of 'most powerful general'." "And would you?" Malachite asked. "Never!" exclaimed Zoycite. "Why would I want that? I may want to be equal to you in power, but never more than that. It would be awkward." Malachite couldn't think of anything to say. So he took Zoycite in his arms and sat down on the couch, and let's just leave it at that. * * * Zoycite awoke with the feeling she was being watched. She opened one eye and saw that the mysterious person was Nephrite. ~Zoycite: I swear he's stalking me...~ "Malachite! Zoycite!" exclaimed a shocked Nephrite. "I didn't know you two..." ~Malachite and Zoycite: Oh shit.~ Neither one could finish Nephrite's sentence. He knew too much already. Who knew what he would blab to Queen Beryl? Well, if he didn't know the truth, he may tell Queen Beryl all kinds of lies. Finally, Malachite spoke. "Yes we are." Malachite said, holding Zoycite's hand up to show Nephrite the ring on her hand. "Does Beryl know?" asked Nephrite. "No, and you better keep it that way." Zoycite threatened conjuring an ice crystal to emphasize her point. "Remember, I haven't told Beryl anything about you and the Earth girl Molly." "Good point." Nephrite said meekly. "Nephrite, while you're here, I think there's something you should know." Malachite said changing the subject. "Mal, do you think this is a good idea?" Zoycite asked quietly. "Well, he does have a right to know. It is his life and his past." Malachite answered. "My past? Zoycite, what is he talking about? I know all about my past." Nephrite said. "Not everything about your past." answered Zoycite. "What do you mean?" asked a confused Nephrite. "I'm talking about your life before the NegaVerse." replied Zoycite. "I know about my life before the NegaVerse!" screamed Nephrite. "My mother was killed so bitch Beryl could bring me here!" "Easy Nephrite, easy." Malachite said, trying to cool Nephrite down. "That was only your earth mother." "Then who's my real mother?" Nephrite asked sarcastically. There was silence. Zoycite couldn't bring herself to tell Nephrite the truth. But a nudge from Malachite changed all that. "I am." Zoycite said quietly. "You didn't just say that." "I did." "Then who' my father." "You know the answer to that." Malachite said stepping next to Zoycite and putting his arm around her. "You're my father." Nephrite said slowly as everything began to make sense. "Yes." "And Jadeite...Jadeite was my brother." Nephrite said as he began to cry. The maternal instinct kicked in, and Zoycite immediately went to Nephrite to comfort him. "It's ok Nephrite." she said giving him the handkerchief that Malachite had just conjured. "Yes, Jadeite is your brother." Malachite said, confirming Nephrite's suspicion. "Then how did I end up here?" asked Nephrite. "Do you remember the legend you told me the other day?" Zoycite asked. "I do." replied Nephrite. "Well, it's not a legend. The kingdom was called the Diamond Kingdom. Malachite and I were the rulers, and you and Jadeite were our sons, as well as the princes of this kingdom." explained Zoycite. "Then, who's your sister?" Nephrite asked Malachite. "Queen Beryl." he answered. "AHHHHHH!!" screamed Nephrite. "Queen Beryl is my aunt!?!?" "Unfortunately yes." confirmed Malachite. Nephrite made a couple of full body shudders and convulsions, then made fake throwing up sounds. "Are you almost finished?" Zoycite asked. "Almost." replied Nephrite as he made one more gagging sound. "OK. I'm done." ~Nephrite: Hah! And Jadeite always made fun of me when I pretended to be one of the princes. Well, two things make sense. I now know why Jadeite and I were so close, and why I felt such a close bond to Zoycite and talked to her about everything. A son would go to his mother with those types of problems. Wait 'till Jadeite hears about this!~ Just then, Nephrite remembered that Queen Beryl had killed him. Originally, Jadeite's death had hit Nephrite hard, but it was even worse knowing that Jadeite was his brother. For the second time that day, Nephrite began to cry and Zoycite, again, instinctively went to Nephrite to comfort him. "It's not my best friend who's dead, but my brother as well." Nephrite said between sobs. "Maybe not." Malachite said thoughtfully. "What do you mean?" Nephrite asked as he dried his eyes with the handkerchief he was given earlier. "Well, I've found a spell that counteracts Beryl's eternal sleep spell." Malachite said. "Really?" asked Nephrite, "Does it work?" "Yes, but I only tried it on a mouse. I think it will work. The only problem is that I have no idea where Jadeite's crystal is." "I do!" exclaimed Nephrite. "Where?" asked Zoycite. "It's in the far corner of the NegaVerse. It looks like an abandoned castle. With all I know now, that may be our old home in the Diamond Kingdom." Nephrite said thoughtfully. "I can take you there if you'd like." "Yes!" exclaimed Zoycite and Malachite together. "Nephrite, you'll have your brother back before you know it." Malachite said confidently. With that, the three generals left Malachite's living room and went to the castle where Jadeite's crystal was located. * * * A few seconds later, Malachite, Zoycite, and Nephrite arrived in the foyer of a strange building. Neither Malachite or Zoycite had ever been here before, yet it seemed vaguely familiar. Zoycite looked around trying to remember something from her past. She still didn't know if this actually was their own castle or not. Finally, Malachite broke the silence. "This is one of the rooms in my dream!" exclaimed Malachite. "Dream?" asked Nephrite, who was confused by this new information. "Malachite learned of our past in a dream." Zoycite explained to Nephrite. "That means that this is the Diamond Kingdom Castle. Now that I think of it, this does look a great deal like the picture in the book." "Book?" Nephrite asked, getting even more confused. "Zoycite found a book on the Diamond Kingdom. That's how this whole thing started." Malachite explained. "Zoycite, I think you should lend the book to Nephrite. He should read it." "Good idea." Zoycite said in agreement to Malachite's idea. "On to more important things." Malachite asked changing the subject back to what they originally came to the castle for. "Where's the crystal at?" "Right. The crystal. It's in here." replied Nephrite. Nephrite opened a door off of the foyer and walked into the room, followed by Zoycite and Malachite. The room was the old throne room, but it was covered in dust. In the center of the room, frozen in his crystal, stood Jadeite. He, obviously, was still in the same position they last saw him in, cowering in fear. "Whew!" Malachite said breathing a sigh of relief after examining the crystal. "He's in a blue crystal." "Why is that good Mal?" asked Zoycite. "Because this is the type of crystal I know I can work with." answered Malachite. "Now, all we have to do is get him out of here." Nephrite said moving towards the crystal. "Maybe not." Zoycite said thoughtfully. "Does Queen Beryl know the castle is here?" "Yes, but she never comes here." answered Nephrite. "Why not?" asked Zoycite. "Well, why would she come to the home of her ex-brother whom she absolutely despises?" replied Nephrite. "Good point." Zoycite said quietly. "Plus, I asked her." Nephrite added. He felt bad about the way he answered his mother. "I wanted to make sure I wouldn't get any surprise visits when I came to visit Jadeite." "Then I'll do this here." Malachite said calling the Diamond Kingdom Spells" book through telekenesis. "Get ready to catch him." he warned. Malachite's ice blue eyes began to glow brighter and brighter as he spoke the ancient words of the spell. One he finished, the crystal immediately disintegrated and Nephrite was able to catch Jadeite before he hit the floor. Unfortunately, neither Zoycite or Malachite expected that Malachite would collapse as well. She barely caught him before he hit the floor. "Thanks Zoey." Malachite said gratefully. "I didn't realize how much energy that spell required. It took a lot out of me." "There's no way I'm going to get him back to his castle. It's probably better to stay here. I'm going to take him up to our old room." Zoycite said helping Malachite to the stairs. "Will you be all right?" Nephrite asked, still supporting Jadeite. "Yes, but will you be ok?" Zoycite asked. "I can manage." answered Nephrite. "Fine, we'll see you in the morning." Zoycite said as she slowly climbed the stairs. Eventually, they reached the top of the stairs. "We're almost there. How are you doing?" Zoycite asked. Zoycite was beginning to worry about Malachite. She had never seen him this drained after a magic spell. "I'll be fine. All I need is a good night's sleep." Malachite answered tiredly. "I think our room is just up ahead." "Good." ====================================================================== Well, that's it for the sixteenth installment of Zoycite's Story.
