Title: Zoycite's Story
Part: Thirteen
Rating: PG/PG-13
======================================================================
This part could almost be re-titled "Malachite's Dream." Without
spoiling the story, this is Malachite's subconscious giving him his
memory back. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the story.
Also check out my story I'm co-writing with Julie-chan called Mishaps
in Time.
I want to take this oppertunity to thank all you guys for reading and
e-mailing me. It makes this worth while. My address is the same,

Disclaimer: I do not own Zoycite or any other character in Sailor Moon.
This story is from my own imagination and is my own work. However, I
would like to own Malachite...or Prince Diamond...(life's so unfair!^_~)

Malachite's dream:
Malachite saw a man who looked exactly like himself, arguing
with a woman who looked like Beryl. Malachite realized it was his past
self arguing with his sister. It seemed to be a very heated debate...
"Beryl, I know you're my sister, and I will always love you."
Malachite said, pleading with his sister.
"Then why do you have to get married?" asked Beryl.
"Because I'm the oldest. I have to get married first, so you
can get married. Plus, that's the only way I can rule the Diamond
Kingdom, and you know that!" Malachite said, trying to make his sister
understand.
"I don't want to get married. There's no one in this kingdom
I want to be with for my entire life. There's no good reason you have
to get married to that woman." Beryl said angrily.
"Her name is Zoycite." Malachite said, since his sister didn't
even want to say Zoycite's name.
"I don't care what her name is! Like I said, there's no good
reason for you to get married to Zoycite." replied Beryl with emphasis
on Zoycite's name. "Why can't we share the throne together as brother
and sister?"
Malachite noticed his sister's eyes were beginning to swell
with tears. But he didn't care. She said things about Zoycite that were
inexcusable.
"Why can't we? I'll tell you why!" exclaimed Malachite. "We
can't share the throne together because I love her. I love Zoycite and
I want her by my side forever!"
With that, Malachite stormed out of the room, leaving Beryl in
tears.
Beryl continued to cry even after Malachite had left. She
didn't understand how he could love anyone more than his own sister.
All she could think of was how could Malachite do this to her.
Eventually, Beryl stopped crying. She was no longer upset, but
angry. She was angry at Zoycite for stealing her brother away from her,
and angry at Malachite for falling in love with another woman. In this
short space of time, Beryl's anger ate her up. All she could think about
was how she could destroy her brother and Zoycite. Her anger toward
her brother and his future wife turned Beryl evil.
Beryl left the castle without turning back. She would find a
way to defeat her brother and this woman he was in love with. It was the
only way.

Time passed in a flash. Malachite saw himself married to Zoycite
as well as the birth of his two sons, Nephrite and Jadeite. He saw them
grow, and also saw his love for Zoycite grow with each passing year.
Then, when Nephrite was five and Jadeite was three, Beryl began her
attack. And Malachite witnessed the whole ordeal in his dream.
He saw himself fight valiantly to defend his kingdom and his
family. Unfortunately, Beryl had joined up with Metallia, the most
powerful evil spirit in the galaxy. Once teamed up with Metallia, Beryl
was unbeatable. Eventually, Beryl overpowered Malachite and captured
the royal family.
Once she had the four tied up, Beryl spoke.
"Well Malachite, it seems I've finally gotten back at you for
marrying that bitch."
"Don't call her that!" Malachite exclaimed, trying to defend
Zoycite. "You never gave her a chance!"
"I didn't need to. She stole my brother!" replied Beryl. "No
matter. Now I have you and your family, and there's nothing you can do
about it."
"Beryl." pleaded Malachite. "Do whatever you want to me. Just
let Zoycite and my sons go."
"I'm sorry my dear brother, but I can't do that." Beryl said
with an evil glint in her eye. "I have plans for all of you. I am going
to kill all of you and take over the Diamond Kingdom. However, the
Diamond Kingdom will no longer exist, only the Dark Kingdom. But have
no fear, you will all be reunited again soon. Only, you won't remember
any of your past lives. The four of you will be born again on Earth. I
will find you, and you will serve me. I will get back at you for all
the pain you put me through!"
As Beryl explained her plan, she began to sound more and more
confident. It was sickening.
"Mommy, what's she talking about?" asked Nephrite.
"Shhh darling. It's all right. I won't let anything happen to
you." Zoycite said quietly trying to settle down her son. Zoycite
turned her attention back to Beryl.
"Never!" exclaimed Zoycite. "Neither I nor Malachite, Jadeite,
or Nephrite will ever serve you, you witch!"
"Yes you will! And I will become even more powerful once I
destroy you!" Beryl said evilly.
"How?" questioned Malachite.
"Once you are all dead, your kingdom and everything in it will
belong to me. That includes all your spell books. The one I am most
interested in is 'Diamond Kingdom Spells.' As for your people, I will
brainwash them as well and they will serve me as well." Beryl said as
large amounts of energy seemed to engulf her.
She opened her hand and Malachite's staff came to her. All four
watched in terror as the energy housed inside the staff was transferred
to the staff Beryl held. In his heart, Malachite knew there was nothing
he could do to save his family.
He took one last look at his sons and glanced over at Zoycite,
who was doing the same. Finally, the two made eye contact with each
other. Just before the wave of energy hit, they mouthed "I love you."
to each other.
Beryl's energy hit the family and all were killed instantly.
* * *
Malachite woke up in a cold sweat. The dream had seemed so
real, as if he was witnessing what actually happened that day. However,
Malachite refused to believe that's what actually happened.
~Malachite: That dream seemed so realistic. But it can't be
true. That dream was a result of too much studying of the Diamond
Kingdom. But still, it could be my subconscious trying to tell me
something...~
Now awake, Malachite decided to return to his studying. He
poured through magic book after magic book looking for a spell that
would counteract Beryl's eternal sleep spell. Unfortunately, none of
the books contained that type of powerful spell.
~Malachite: There was a spell book in my dream...but what was
it called? I can't remember the title. Maybe, if the dream was factual,
the book would be in the library...~
Malachite decided to return to the Dark Kingdom Library to see
if any books would help him in his quest.
