Title: Zoycite's Story
Part: Twelve
Rating: PG/PG-13
======================================================================
In case you haven't noticed, these parts are starting to get longer.
(You see, Zoycite can be nice when she wants to be! ^_~) Anyways, I know
my rating keeps jumping up a level every so often. Now with Malachite
and Zoycite having a relationship...I promise it won't go above PG-13.
Also check out my story I'm co-writing with Julie-chan called Mishaps
in Time.
I want to take this oppertunity to thank all you guys for reading and
e-mailing me. It makes this worth while. My address is the same,
Zoycite111@hotmail.com. Enjoy part eleven! ^_^
======================================================================
Disclaimer: I do not own Zoycite or any other character in Sailor Moon.
This story is from my own imagination and is my own work. However, I
would like to own Malachite...or Prince Diamond...(life's so unfair!^_~)
======================================================================
Last time: This part would almost be as long as the story if I tried
to re-cap. If you missed the last part or forgot, I suggest you skim
over part 11. ^_^
======================================================================
A little while later, Zoycite decided it was time for her to
leave. She didn't want to, but both Zoycite and Malachite were afraid
some of the youma may get suspicious if they stayed together any longer.
However, Zoycite was reluctant to leave and Malachite was reluctant to
let her go, so she stalled as long as possible.
"Oh Mal...I don't want to go back to the barracks! I have
absolutely no privacy, and I won't be able to study this book." Zoycite
said gesturing towards the book she was carrying.
"I think I can help you my little Zoey-chan." Malachite replied.
"Queen Beryl once told me I was to give you your own quarters once you
had met my expectations. Obviously, you exceed my expectations.
Anyways, the abandoned mansion right next door will be adequate. That
way we will have an excuse to be together even more."
"Malachite...I don't know what to say. You've done so much for
me. I guess all I can say is thank you. For everything." Zoycite said
giving Malachite a quick kiss. "I better go. I'll stop back later."
* * *
Zoycite picked up her few belongings and moved them to her new
quarters. She conjured a couple of candles to provide some light.
Unfortunately, the mansion was good to its word, it was abandoned, and
it was a mess.
~Zoycite: Ugh! This place is so dirty. Better get to work
cleaning.~
Half working and half using some of her powers, Zoycite began
to clean the mansion from top to bottom. Again, she began to hum "We
Kiss in a Shadow."
All of a sudden, Zoycite had the strange feeling that she
wasn't alone, and that she was being watched.
~Zoycite: I feel a strong presence here. It can't be Malachite
because he would have spoken up already. I wonder who would have the
nerve to come in here...~
"Hello? Who's there?" Zoycite called out tentatively.
"Zoycite, is that you?" a voice replied.
"Yes."
"Are you alone?"
"Yes. Who are you?" asked Zoycite who was beginning to get
annoyed. She hated people who wouldn't answer her.
Zoycite received no reply. Now she began to get pissed. How
dare this person invade her privacy and not tell her who it was. She
tried to figure out the voice so she could place an ice crystal in
their back.
Now, Zoycite wasn't usually like this. However, she and
Malachite decided it would be best to act like she was evil to show
Queen Beryl that the brainwashing actually worked on Zoycite.
"It's me." Nephrite finally answered as he stepped out of the
shadows.
"Wow. News sure does travel fast around here. I just got my
new quarters twenty minutes ago!" said a surprised Zoycite. "Well, what
can I do for you? Are you in trouble?"
"You could say that." replied Nephrite. "I don't know where to
begin."
"Well, start from the beginning, and we'll go from there."
"All right." began Nephrite. "I've fallen in love."
"With who?"
~Zoycite: It better not be me. If it is, won't Nephrite be
surprised when he finds out that he's in love with his mother!~
"Her name is Molly." answered Nephrite and Zoycite breathed a
sigh of relief. "I met her on Earth. She knows me only as my alias
Maxfield Stanton, not Nephrite. She knows nothing of my other life
here."
"So what's the problem?" asked Zoycite, knowing full well
what it was. However, she couldn't let Nephrite know she knew about
Queen Beryl outlawing love in the Dark Kingdom.
"WHAT'S THE PROBLEM???" Nephrite exclaimed. "That is the
problem!"
"Geeze! I'm getting tired of getting blown up at. First
Malachite, and now you! All I'm missing is Queen Beryl, and I'll have
had everyone mad at me!" exclaimed Zoycite.
"I'm sorry Zoycite. I'll elaborate. Queen Beryl has outlawed
love."
Nephrite said in an apologetic voice.
"Do you know why?" asked Zoycite trying to get information.
It was possible that Nephrite had some information on the Diamond
Kingdom that he didn't know about. Malachite did say that Nephrite
did have a lot of his memory after Queen Beryl attempted to brainwash
him.
"Somewhat. I'm a little sketchy on some of the details
though." said Nephrite. "I heard a legend from Jadeite that Queen
Beryl was banished from an ancient kingdom by her brother because she
tried to stop his marriage to someone. Beryl was jealous that her older
brother had fallen in love with another woman. He hate for her older
brother and his new wife ate her up and she became evil. To get back
at her brother, she decided to take over his kingdom."
"The Diamond Kingdom." Zoycite said under her breath.
"What did you say?" asked Nephrite.
"Nothing." Zoycite said, shaking the question off. "Continue."
"OK. However, Beryl knew that she couldn't defeat the powerful
king on her own. So, she made an alliance with Queen Metallia.
Metallia increased Beryl's powers. And so, the battle began. By the
time Beryl started her attack, the king and queen had two sons.
When I first heard the story, I pretended that I was one of the
princes of this kingdom." Nephrite said sheepishly.
~Zoycite: How true. You are one of the princes. There is no
need to pretend.~
"Anyways," Nephrite said, returning to the story, "The battle
between Beryl and her brother raged on. Unfortunately, Beryl eventually
overpowered the king. Then, she killed the king, queen, and their two
sons."
"Oh my God." breathed Zoycite, trying to recover from her
fourth shock in 24 hours. "Now I understand. Mal and I..." Zoycite
caught herself before she could say any more.
"Is that all?" Zoycite asked, bringing her voice back to its
normal volume.
"Yes. Like I said, I'm sorry I don't know any of the names."
Nephrite apologized.
"That's quite all right. You've helped...in more ways than you
know." Zoycite said, finally understanding everything.
Nephrite's story totally brought Zoycite's memory back to her.
It was as if a curtain had been lifted off of her past memories.
Nephrite's story was a little off in some of the details, but
essentially it was all there. Zoycite would see Malachite later to
tell him about their past.
"Now, back to your problem. If you really love this girl, then
go for it, and to hell with Beryl. That's what Mal-" Zoycite caught her
slip again. The last thing she needed was for Nephrite to know about
her and Malachite.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing." Zoycite said, trying to cover her slips.
"Why do I have the strange feeling you're a) hiding something,
or b) know something?" Mephrite said turning his back on Zoycite.
"Let's just say you're right on both counts. Now, if you'll
excuse me, I have a training session with Malachite." Zoycite said as
she went to teleport away.
"Zoycite?"
"Yes Nephrite?"
"You're a true friend. Thank you."
"You're welcome." said Zoycite as she disappeared in a cloud
of cherry blossom petals.

Before going back to Malachite's castle, Zoycite decided to
head to the Dark Kingdom Library. She needed a place to think about
what Nephrite had just told her. Zoycite would have preferred to go
to her tree in Tokyo, but she didn't want to explain to Queen Beryl
why she didn't collect any energy. So, to the library it was.
Luckily, no one was there when Zoycite arrived. She went over
to one of the reading couches and plopped down on it and closed her
eyes. One problem continued to nag at her. If what Nephrite said was
true, why didn't she remember any of it?
~Zoycite: Well, all this did was confuse me even more! Maybe
Malachite has more memories than me. I know he's no longer mad at me,
but I want to give him something for forgiving me. Maybe I'll try
looking for a spell book.~
Zoycite stayed on the couch for another twenty minutes, until
she was interrupted by someone entering the library. She prayed that
it wasn't Beryl. Her prayer wasn't answered. The new arrival was Queen
Beryl herself.
Zoycite jumped off the couch and ran to the nearest bookcase.
Beryl came around a corner and saw Zoycite standing there.
"Zoycite, what are you doing in here?" questioned Beryl.
"My queen, Lord Malachite has given me an assignment of
learning about different energy crystals. He has instructed me to find
a book detailing how they are formed and how much energy each one can
hold." Zoycite said trying out another lie on Queen Beryl. This one,
like the others, worked like a charm.
"Very well. I will leave you to your work."
Zoycite watched Beryl walk over to a bookcase, pull out a book,
then set it on the shelf. Obviously, it wasn't the one she was looking
for. Then, as quickly as she came, Beryl disappeared from the library.
Interested it the book Beryl had looked at, Zoycite walked over
to the other shelf. The book Beryl didn't want was entitled "Diamond
Kingdom Spells." Zoycite immediately recognized the name and grabbed the
book. She walked back over to her couch and sat down. Once she read
through the book, she would return to Malachite's castle.

After Zoycite left, Malachite fell back asleep. However, it
wasn't a dreamless sleep. Malachite saw his entire past in a dream...

Well, that's it for the twelfth installment of Zoycite's story. I
decided to stop it there and have Malachite's Dream as Part Thirteen.
