*Note;  I use the word Nephrite because I’m one of those Sailor Moon lovers who believes DiC has destroyed most of it. The only reason I still refer to the NA version of Sailor Moon is because I grew up with it.  Nephrite = Nephlite.  That’s how they say it in Japanese.  I use the name Molly only for the sake of those who have not been Japanese adapted yet...If you are one of theose people, I stongly sugest you start to go Japanese...once you’ve had that, you’ll never go back. Oh, yeah, plus, I advise you take this from an anime point of view, rather than the manga version.  Molly/Naru never met Nephrite in the manga.  And the generals of the Negaverse were origionaly Mamoru/Darien’s guards.  It’ll make a whole lot more sense in anime...enjoy :) *

Nephrite:

The Story of His Past

Part 1 by Liv Well

“...the tears became as plentiful as stars in the sky, that night

“I’ll be back as soon as I can”  She spoke the words to her companions as she closed her eyes, and with a flash of blue light, vanished

Her body didn’t seem to have any form or shape, but her esence flew through space, perhaps faster than light itself.  She stopped at the spot she seemed to be searching for.  Shortly before, she and her friends sensed a disturbance in their flow of energy.  She didn’t know why, but something inside her told her to investigate it herself.  And this investigation lead her to Tokyo, Japan, on Earth.  She would soon learn why.

The young lady materialized close by the spot were she intended to be, and she tried her best to stay from site.  It would not be hard since she had the cover of night to help her, as well as some trees and shrubbery.  All this, the darkness, the trees and all of her new surroundings were new to her.  She had never seen such things before, so she stood there, dazed for a second, until she heard voices near by.  The girl turned to see what was happening.

She first saw three young ladies, perhaps only a year or two younger than herself.  They each wore white suits, with bows and skirts all colored differently, yet they seemed rather uniform.  Only a few feet from there, was another girl, their age, but she was not in a suit, she wore loose clothing, seemingly normal to the people of earth, and that girl was leaned over a man who lay in her arms on the ground.  He was slowly dying, and all the girls there were weeping.

“Please, Nephrite! Everything will be all right! Just hang on.”  She heard the girl kneeling over him cry.

They must be weeping for him.  I assume then, they are his evil companions.  I’ll approach with caution.  The girl thought to herself.  She closed her eyes once more.  Shortly after, blue light began to gather a safe distance from the others there, but were it was very visible to them.  In turn, they all stared at it, confused.  But this expression was not matched by the one that followed when they saw the light take form.

They gawked for a long time, looking her over.  She was tall, with broad shoulders.  She seemed very strong, yet slender, and graceful.  She wore a beautiful, sleek blue gown.  Most of which was translucent, except for the deeper blue slip underneath.  Her long wavy mahogany hair was topped with a golden crown, studded with blue jewels in the form of asterisks.  She turned to the girls in uniform, and her piercing sapphire eyes caught theirs.

“Stand aside, and let me see that man.”

The ladies each gathered in her way, suspecting she did not intend to help.  “What do you want with him?”  One with long black hair questioned her, demandingly

                “He is my brother!”

The rest of them gasped.  As the girl with the blue bowed suit got her barrings, she spoke.  “That means she’s probably from the Negaverse!”

“The Negaverse!?!”  The blonde one questioned.  “Well there’s no way we’re letting sleaze like you bother the likes of Nephrite any more! I don’t care if he is your brother, you’ll have to get past us!”  She yelled half in tears.

The lady only became insulted, and angered.  “You dare to speak to the Blue Queen in such a manner!?  You will regret your tone!”

Somewhere behind a bush, the guardian cat, Luna was listening.  She thought to herself.  Blue Queen, the name is so...familiar.  I remember Queen Serenity saying something about--!  The cat stopped herself short, dashing from the bushes in a hurry, in front of the angered Queen.

“Please! Your Majesty!  These girls do not know what they are doing! Forgive them, please! Have mercy on them!” Luna begged.

Meanwhile, the Queen almost jumped back in surprise.  “I heard that the planet Earth had strange creatures, but speech capability!”  She shook her head, and regained her royal composure.  “Eh-Hem! Yes, well. Your words will spare them, as long as they let me by.”

“You heard the Lady, girls” Luna commanded

                “But Luna-!” Sailor Moon protested

“LET -  HER - BY!”  Luna said through her teeth, frustrated.  And the girls slowly moved from their stances.

The Queen walked passed them, and finally looked down at the man she claimed was her brother with cold eyes.  The girl by his side suddenly stood up, and put her arms out to her sides, blocking the man from the Queen’s vision as best as possible.

“I won’t let you people hurt him anymore!” She yelled, frightened, and crying still.

“Stand down, girl, or I will stand you down myself”  she threatened calmly

                “Never!” Molly yelled back.

Then, a voice shattered the air, Nephrite spoke from behind them.  “Molly, it’s all right.  Let her by.”  Hearing his voice, she quickly obliged, and retreated to her post by his side.

“Nebule”  She said, almost greeting him.

                “Liveen”  He responded.

“What have you to say now, Nebule?”

“You were right Liveen.  The evil would see to my last breath.”

“And do you know what I have come to say to you?”  The Queen showed no sign of warmth towards the dying man.

                “What?”

“I   told   you  so”  She spoke slowly, and vengefully.

“I-I can only say...I’m sorry, Liveen.”

Liveen paused, confused.  “What Nebule, no evil remarks?  No hateful words? After all; I mock you.”

“He’s not evil!  He has a good heart!”  Molly blanched.

“What you say is not true, girl.  Is it, Nebule!”

“Please, Liveen. I have nothing to offer you, but my apology for what I have done to you, your kingdom, and this Universe.  Will you except it on behalf of them all?”

His voice, it’s like it was when I knew him.  Her cold expression broke, and her eyes grew sorrowful.  She closed them, and suddenly, on her forehead, appeared a blue asterisk, that flashed brightly.  And shortly after, one did the same on Nephrite’s as well.

After a second, with her eyes still closed, she fell to her knees, opposite the side of Molly.  “Oh, Nebule”

She opened her eyes, to find herself staring into his.  The resemblance between them was shocking.  “Nebule, I’m so sorry.  I didn’t know!”  Tears began to fill the girl’s eyes.

“No, Liveen.  You were right.  And this is what I deserve for what I have done.”

“That’s not true! Nebule, don’t say that!”

“I’ve hurt so many people, I’ve lied, and broken promises.”  He turned to Molly.  “I’m sorry, Molly”

“Oh, Nephrite, for what?” She said, sobbing

“It doesn’t look like we’ll be having that chocolate parfette.”

“Oh, Please!”  Molly begged.  She no longer wanted to see him in such pain.

“I lied to you again, but this time, I didn’t mean to”

“Nebule, don’t you talk this way!  You’ll be fine, I can fix you up!  Please!” Liveen began to become desperate with the thought of loosing her brother, again.

“Liveen, it’s useless.  Let it be.”

“No, Nebule, you have to come back with me!  You have to give me away at my wedding! I’m marrying Olsam!”

Nephrite chuckled lightly to himself, a sense of immense pain in his voice.  “Then my only regret is that I can not go back and kill him for trying to take away my little sister, and my crown.”

“No Nebule! You’re coming back!” Liveen sobbed

“Liveen, you two have my blessing.  He will make a fine king in my place--errr!”  He cringed in pain, and began to breathe heavily.

The two young ladies around him gasped.

“Ooohhh...” He moaned, moving around a little.  He closed his eyes to concentrated on the little energy he had left.  And in the air above them, formed a sword.  “Liveen, this is rightfully yours.  The Blue Star Sword.  Take it, and bring honor once more to the Blue Star Kingdom.”

Liveen plucked it from the air, and placed it at her side, sobbing like never before, resting her head on his chest.

“Please, send Burnima, Gildala, and Pyurin my regards.” He looked down to his sister, who seemed helpless.  He had never known her to be that way.  He couldn’t remember a single time he saw her cry.  Even as children, she seldom cried, it wasn’t like her, and it worried him.  Taking her chin in his hand, he requested one last thing from her.  “After tonight, Liveen, I want you never to cry for me again, you must be strong, for our Kingdom, and our people.  I will be with you, in the heavens.” Liveen nodded, trying to gather herself from the seeming pieces of shattered glass she had become.

Nephrite looked to Molly, reaching out to touch her face one last time.  “Don’t forget me Molly, I just want you to know, you’re in my heart.”  He looked down, and very calmly, spoke his final words; “As for my last wish, I could ask for nothing more, than to spend my last moments with the ones I care for the most.  I love you.”  And with those words he closed his eyes, and ceased to live.

Molly refused to accept this, and yelled to him  “Hold on, Nephrite!  Everything will be all right!  We’ll get a doctor or something, you’ll be ok!  Please Nephrite, you can’t leave me!  Please!” The desperation grew heavy in her voice.

Liveen only kneeled there, silent, the tears still flowing from her eyes.

Nephrite’s body began to grow light, and slowly illuminated like the stars did.  The remnants of him body floated up into the air.  Molly, still trying to hold him, found that she only had her arms around herself.

Liveen looked up to the sky were the lights rose.  He’s returning to our home, in the Stars...

Molly watched as the strip of cloth she had wrapped around his arm not long ago fell to the ground.  And at this, she bawled.  “NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!”

Liveen joined her.  The two girls stayed there, on the ground, holding each other, and sobbed, for what seemed like hours, while the scouts looked on...the tears became as plentiful as stars in the sky, that night.

END OF PART ONE

*Note 2; The story of The Star Kingdoms is an actual series I have developed, with episodes and everything.  If you’re wondering, I’m sorry, none of it is available though... I don’t know, if I get enough requests, maybe I’ll continue it...

The cross over between my series, and Sailor Moon was a total mistake actualy...I creatued Liveen in my partail image, and the rest kinda clicked.  I thought, hey, wait a minute...Nebule kinda looks like--Nephrite!  And then, every where I looked their persona’s matched.  It was really creepy! So, in actuality, this fanfic was created on the basis of Star Kingdom around Sailor Moon, not the basis of Sailor Moon around Star Kingdom. Which is just really scary in my book. It fits so well, you would think even Naoko would aprove, huh?  You’ll see what I mean in Part 2 :)  Have fun! *
