The kings emereged from the mouth of the cave to find themselves in a breathtaking, barren landscape known as Glencoe. They were all half way up the side of the mountain.
"There is it!" Jedite shouted, pointing.
"The Bridge of Death!" Zoisite shrieked.
"Oh great. . ." Mumbled Kunzite.
They moved closer to the Bridge of Death.
"Look! It's the old man from scene 24! What's he doing here?" Kunzite shouted, pointing at the figure near the bridge.
"He is the keeper of the bridge." Nephlyte supplied. "He asks each traveler three questions."
"Five questions eh?" Kunzite pondered.
"Three dear." Zoisite corrected.
Kunzite nodded. "Three questions, he who answers the five questions. . ."
"Three."
"Three questions, may cross in safety?"
Nephlyte nodded.
Zoisite looked down warily. "And if you get a question wrong?"
Nephlyte pointed at the bottomless gorge.
"Oh. . .wacho." Zoisite mumbled.
"Who's going to answer the questions?" Jedite asked.
"Zoisite, you go." Kunzite ordered.
"Hey! I've got a great idea! Why doesn't Jedite go?" Zoisite hedged.
"Yes. Let me. I will take it single handed. . .I will make feint to the north east. . ." Jedite rambled, eyes glowing.
"No!" Kunzite shook him. "Hang on! Just answer the five questions. . ."
"Three."
"Three questions. . . and we shall watch. . .and pray."
"I undertand." Jedite nodded then skipped towards the bridge.
"Good luck, Jedite." Kunzite muttered.
When Jedite finally approached the bridge keeper the old man looked up and shouted "Stop!" When the king had skidded to a stop, he continued. "Who approached the Bridge of Death must answer me these questions three! Ere the other side he see."
Jedite drew his sword. "Ask me the questions, bridgekeeper. I am not afraid."
"What is your name?"
"My name is King Jedite."
"What is your quest?"
"To find the Holy Cape."
"What. . . is your favorite colour?"
"Red."
The bridgekeeper nodded. "Right, off you go."
Jedite ran across the bridge into the mist. Kunzite and Nephlyte exchanged stunned looks.
"That's easy!" Nephlyte snapped. Zipping off he hurried to the bridge.
"Stop!" The bridgekeeper demanded. "Who approacheth the Bridge of Death must answer me these questions three! Ere the other side he see!"
Nephlyte sneered. "Ask me the questions, Bridgekeeper. I am not afraid."
"What is your name?"
"My name is King Nephlyte of Nephy's Lot!"
"What is your quest?"
"To seek the Cape!"
"What. . . is the capital of Assyria?"
Nephlyte frowned. "I don't know that!" Some unseen force suddenly hurled the king off the bridge and over the precipice. "Aaaaarrrrrggghhhhh!"
Zoisite peered over the edge with a grin. "Ohhh, too bad."
Jedite, meanwhile, arrived at the other side of the bridge. He turned and tried to see his companions but the mist was simply too thick. Sighing he sat down on a rock to wait. A girl in a sailor fuku appears next to him.
"Who are you?" He asked peering at her.
"I am Sailor Mars! And I need to ask you some questions!" She replied, striking some poses.
Jedite grinned stupidly. "Ummm okay!" Getting up he followed the swishing black hair.
Zoisite stepped up to the bridge keeper staring at his nails.
"What is your name?"
"King Zoisite."
"What is your quest?"
"To find the silly Holy Cape."
"What. . . is your favorite colour?"
"Blue. . ." he blinked for a moment, "no green."
He yelped as he too was thrown over the edge. Kunzite peered down then shrugged. Stepping forward he stared at the keeper.
"What is your name?
"It is Kunzite, King of the Dark Kingdom."
"What is your quest?"
"To seek the Holy Cape."
"What. . . is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?"
Kunzite thought for a moment. "What do you mean? An African or European swallow?"
The bridge keeper fumbled. "Er. . . I don't know that! Aaaarrrrrrggghhhh!" He went flying and almost nailed Zoisite as he floated his way back up.
"Hey!" Zoisite growled as he landed and followed Kunzite across the bridge. "How do you know so much about swollows?"
Kunzite shrugged. "Well you have to know these things when you're a king, you know."
They were both suddenly stopped by the appearance of a huge lake. The lake is mostly shrouded in mist and they paused, unable to figure out how to crtoss. Suddenly a huge boat drifted up to them. The boat keeper looked up and they groaned when they realized it was the bridge keeper.
Clearing his throat the boat keeper spoke. "He who would cross the Sea of Fate must answer me these questions twenty-eight."
Kunzite and Zoisite exchanged glances then stepped forward. Grabbing a hold of the boat keeper they tossed him into the water. Making themselves comfortable they ordered the boat forward.
(Note: for those confused about the whole boat keeper thing since he doesn't appear in the movie, he was orginally in the script but was cut out at the last moment. I tried to keep to the movie as close as possible but I just couldn't resist.)
