Okay... this is my first attempt, which wouldn't be possible without Soylent Green's infinite patience! So-- I dedicate this to her. I'm warning you now, it doesn't have a happy ending... but hey, what are you gonna do, right? Zoisite did not meet a pleasant end. I just got @#(&*$ at the vagueness of his story. So... here it is, my take on Zoisite.

Disclaimer: Characters aren't mine, I don't get paid for this, yadda yadda yadda. You know the drill ^_^.

ALONE
Prologue

Prologue

I have a story to tell.

It has been sixty-seven years since I was banished to this place, cursed to drift along in the obscurity of oblivion. And for what? Because I failed. Because I was always too impulsive for my own good. Because I couldn't stand to be controlled any more.

But that isn't what hurts me the most. My death was the easy part.

What hurts the most is that I am alone. My worst childhood fear, come to life as though mocking me, escaping from my very nightmares. Not that I dream anymore. If only I could at least have some illusion of human comfort. But... no. Only you. And now you will hear my tale.

At first glance, I seem... well... evil. Your average two-dimensional "bad guy". I've got everything: the maniacal laugh, the chilling grin, and the narrowed, angry eyes. There was no doubt what I was to them, those horribly amateur pubescent Sailor brats. All that mattered to them was destroying my plans; whatever they were, and for whatever reason they might have been. They did not even stop to wonder why... or for that matter, even who I was. There was no mercy, and there was no doubt. Just annihilation.

Not that this bothered me at the time. I was over-confident, sure that no matter what happened, what course of events unfolded, I would come away the victor. I had everything; I was again the most favored of "Queen" Beryl. I had my youth, my beauty, my love...

But, I am getting ahead of myself.

Now that you are here, my story can begin. I warn you now, it isn't pretty. It wasn't supposed to be. I am not some heart-of-gold hero who wins the battle in the end to live happily ever after. I was destined since birth to be what I am now... nothing. Locked in the dimness of memory. Forgotten. Alone. Desperate.

Here is my story.
